Candice Lin

Head of School

Mrs. Lin grew up in Taiwan. She earned her Bachelor of Science with honors in Elementary Education and Teaching from the Western Oregon University, her Teaching Credential from the state of Oregon, Master of Education from the University of San Diego and her Association Montessori International Assistants to Infancy (Ages 0-3) and Primary (Ages 3-6) diplomas from Dr. Silvia Dubovoy of the Montessori Institute of San Diego.

She has taught kindergarten and first grade Chinese Immersion in public schools in Minnesota, Utah, and Vancouver for 3 years. She has worked with students of all levels and learning abilities while helping them to meet standards in all curriculum content areas. Throughout her extensive education and academic teaching experience, she has developed a deep understanding and passion of culture differences, individual learning, and social development.

After teaching in public school, Mrs. Lin earned her AMI certificate and her Masters of Education. Thereafter, she moved to Hong Kong and taught in Montessori International schools, guiding children and working with them to maximize their learning as well as help them to grow socially, emotionally, and cognitively.

In 2015, Candice and her husband Derek founded Jordan Montessori, the predecessor to LakeCreek Montessori School, as the first Chinese immersion Montessori in the city of Austin. Since then, the school has grown from a small single class through 2 location changes into the school that it is today.

In her spare time, Mrs. Lin enjoys watching movies, reading, spending time with her family and enjoying the physical beauty and rich cultural life of Texas.
